About BOLD Coffee & Books
Tim and Ali Shaw opened BOLD in 2024, bringing experience in social work and the book business to the shop. Its shelves emphasize books and gifts by and about communities that have often been underrepresented, alongside work by local authors. That focus gives browsing a clear purpose beyond finding something to read with coffee.
The event calendar extends the bookstore into a place to participate. Author readings, writing sessions, craft gatherings and children’s storytimes appear alongside a recurring spoken-word open mic. Food ranges from breakfast sandwiches to pastries and a hummus plate, so meeting for a book discussion can include more than a drink.
